The thing about the World Cup is that it sparks communication in the most unexpected places. Wearing my Brazil shirt I call in to collect my Avis car to go to the airport. The guy there, who I\’ve known casually for years, looks at me – turns out he\’d lived in Italy for 10 years and was a huge fan. Cue football conversation which almost made  me late for my flight! Who\’d have thought it – even in Avis Lafayette IN.
